Karex Berhad was founded in 1988 in Johor, Malaysia. Karex has since developed considerable manufacturing expertise and steadily expanded its manufacturing facilities, culminating with its listing on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad in 2013. Today, with a workforce of over 3,500 employees, Karex has the capacity to produce over five billion condoms per annum making it the world’s largest condom manufacturer. Operating across four manufacturing facilities located in Pontian, Port Klang and Senai in Malaysia as well as Hat Yai, Thailand, Karex operates some of the most advanced machinery in the condom manufacturing industry, all of which has been designed and fabricated in house. These features do not only provide Karex with considerable economies of scale but also the agility and product portfolio to service customers in a rapidly evolving condom industry. We also have Sales and Marketing offices in the US and UK.

Apart from condoms, we also manufacture personal lubricants, catheters, probe covers and gloves.

Karex sells its products through three different market segments: the commercial market which involves the manufacture of private label condoms and product ranges for brand owners, the tender market where Karex services institutional buyers consisting of NGOs and government agencies and the own brand market where Karex markets and sells its products under its own brands.

Karex has also embarked on an ambitious journey to move up the value chain by developing its rapidly growing own brand segment. Through a series of acquisitions, Karex now possesses branding expertise and distribution networks in Thailand, the USA and the UK. Its own brand products are now available across over 50,000 outlets around the world facilitating the transformation from a traditional manufacturer into a holistic solution provider within in the sexual wellness industry.
